As a collective, we’ve embarked on several play days, delving into innovative approaches to art creation and the importance of play and experimentation. Throughout these sessions, we’ve collaborated to develop a range of ideas, both individually and collectively.
‘Method Lab 3’ has pushed us to embrace unconventional methods compared to our usual practices. We’ve dedicated time at General Practice in Lincoln, engaged in enriching online discussions, and enjoyed playful days at the University of Lincoln. During these sessions, we’ve even begun crafting objects together, including ‘zines.’
While some aspects of this process have been straightforward, others have presented unique challenges - all integral parts of the creative journey. As a group, we’ve often contemplated the concept of ‘the messy middle,’ akin to the idea of persevering to reach another stage, drawing inspiration from each other’s work and energy, and embodying the collaborative studio ethos.
